NM Joins Lawsuit Against President

NEW MEXICO AND CALIFORNIA ARE ASKING A FEDERAL JUDGE TO BLOCK PRESIDENT TRUMP FROM USING MILITARY FUNDS TO BUILD A BORDER WALL IN THE TWO STATES. THE LAWSUIT CLAIMS THAT BUILDING THE WALL WOULD CAUSE LASTING HARM TO THE ENVIRONMENT, AND INFRINGE ON STATES’ RIGHTS.

THE PRESIDENT HAS TAPPED TWO AND-A-HALF BILLION DOLLARS IN PENTAGON FUNDS TO BUILD THE WALL. THE SUIT SAYS THAT NEW MEXICO AND CALIFORNIA WOULD SUFFER IRREPARABLE HARM TO THEIR NATURAL RESOURCES AND WILDLIFE PROTECTED BY THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS.
