IT’S LIFE IN PRISON FOR ANTHONY RAY BACA, THE MAN AUTHORITIES SAY WAS THE LEADER OF THE SYNDICATO DE NUEVO MEXICO GANG. THE ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL REPORTS BACA’S BEEN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON PLUS 120 MONTHS. THE JOURNAL SAYS IT’S FOR BACA’S PART IN THE MURDER OF ANOTHER PRISON INMATE, JAVIER MOLINA, AND CONSPIRING TO MURDER TWO CORRECTIONS OFFICIALS.
HIS SENTENCE INCLUDES A “VULNERABLE VICTIMS” ENHANCEMENT BECAUSE MOLINA WAS UNABLE TO PROTECT HIMSELF WHEN OTHER GANG MEMBERS STABBED HIM 43 TIMES IN HIS PRISON CELL.
