PRC Delays Facebook Decision

NO AGREEMENT YET ON WHO PAYS NEARLY HALF OF THE 85 MILLION DOLLARS FOR A TRANSMISSION LINE FOR FACEBOOK’S LOS LUNAS FACILITY. THE DEAL TO HAVE FACEBOOK PAY IS NOW OFF THE TABLE AFTER THE PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSION ON WEDNESDAY UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED DEFERRING THE COST RECOVERY ISSUE TO A FUTURE RATE CASE.

COMMISSIONERS VOTED TO CHANGE THE ORDER, KEEPING PNM FROM CHARGING RATEPAYERS. THEY’LL ALSO ALLOW THE UTILITY TO PRESENT ITS CASE THE NEXT TIME IT FILES FOR A RATE HIKE. IT MEANS FACEBOOK NOW DOESN’T HAVE TO PAY A 39-MILLION DOLLAR BILL TO FINANCE THE PROJECT.
