A SANTA FE TEENAGER NO LONGER FACES A MURDER CHARGE IN THE SHOOTING DEATH OF HIS MOTHER’S BOYFRIEND IN LATE APRIL. THE SANTA FE NEW MEXICAN REPORTS A GRAND JURY HAS DOWNGRADED THE CHARGE AGAINST 16 YEAR OLD HUNTER WOODS TO VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER. THIRTY-NINE YEAR OLD RICARDO MAGANA DIED OF HIS INJURIES WEEKS AFTER HE WAS SHOT.
WOODS’ CASE IS CURRENTLY MOVING THROUGH THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM…BUT THE NEW MEXICAN REPORTS PROSECUTORS WANT TO TRY THE CASE IN ADULT COURT.
SANTA FE POLICE SAY WOODS WAS ALSO INVOLVED IN TWO OTHER SHOOTINGS THAT DID NOT RESULT IN INJURIES. HE’S NOT BEEN CHARGED IN THOSE SHOOTINGS.
