THE MEASURE WAS PROPOSED BY COUNCILOR BRAD WINTER AFTER SEEING HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WATCHING STREET RACERS ON BALLOON FIESTA PARKWAY. APD IS CONCERNED PEOPLE COULD BE HURT WATCHING THE CARS RACE … BUT WILL FINE THEM UP TO 500 DOLLARS OR 90 DAYS IN JAIL IF THEY’RE CAUGHT. MAYOR TIM KELLER STILL HAS TO SIGN THE AMENDED TRAFFIC CODE INTO LAW.
