Albuquerque Postal Service Fined for Mice

THE POST OFFICE IN ALBUQUERQUE IS HIT WITH A FINE OF 9-THOUSAND-475 DOLLARS. THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION, OR OSHA, IMPOSED THE FINE AFTER TWO INCIDENTS INVOLVING RODENTS AT POST OFFICES IN THE CITY.

THE ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL REPORTS THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS ON MARCH 26TH AT THE RICHARD PINO STATION ON THE WEST SIDE. IT WHERE A RODENT JUMPED OUT OF A DRAWER AND SCRATCHED A POSTAL CLERK. THE SECOND INCIDENT WAS ON APRIL 22ND AT THE MAIN POST OFFICE NEAR DOWNTOWN. A WORKER REPORTED THEY SAW A RODENT RUN IN FRONT OF THEIR WORK STATION.

THE USPS HAS FILED AN APPEAL BUT HAS UNTIL JUNE 11TH TO PAY THE FINE.
