WITH MANY NEW MEXICANS PLANNING TO TRAVEL OVER THE MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY, IT’S GOOD TO KNOW THEY’LL BE PAYING A LITTLE LESS AT THE GAS PUMP. JOSHUA ZUBER WITH AAA NEW MEXICO SAYS THE STATEWIDE AVERAGE IS DOWN, BUT ONLY BY ONE CENT. THE AVERAGE IS NOW 2-72.
ZUBER SAYS THE CURRENT PRICE REPRESENTS A PRETTY GOOD BREAK FROM WHAT MOTORISTS PAID AT THIS TIME LAST YEAR. THE STATE AVERAGE IS 23 CENTS CHEAPER COMPARED TO THAT TIME LAST YEAR.
MEANWHILE, ZUBER SAYS AAA EXPECTS ABOUT 3-MILLION PEOPLE IN THE MOUNTAIN REGION, WHICH INCLUDES NEW MEXICO, WILL TRAVEL AT LEAST 50 MILES OR MORE OVER THE HOLIDAY. THAT’S A FOUR PERCENT INCREASE OVER LAST YEAR.
