PNM HAS FILED A MOTION ASKING THE PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSION TO REOPEN THE TRANSMISSION LINE CASE CONCERNING FACEBOOK IN LOS LUNAS AND PNM’S CUSTOMERS. PNM’S INITIAL REQUEST ASKED THAT FACEBOOK BE CHARGED NEARLY HALF THE COST OF THE 85 MILLION DOLLAR PROJECT … WITH CUSTOMERS PAYING THE REST.
THE ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL REPORTS PNM NOW WANTS THE CASE REOPENED SO IT CAN ADD EVIDENCE SHOWING THE TRANSMISSION LINE WOULD SERVE ALL ITS CUSTOMERS … NOT JUST FACEBOOK AND WHOLESALE CUSTOMERS.
THE PRC SAYS THE UTILITY CANNOT CHARGE GENERAL RATEPAYERS FOR BUILDING THE TRANSMISSION LINE THAT WOULD BASICALLY SERVE ONLY FACEBOOK. THE LINE WOULD CARRY ELECTRICITY TO FACEBOOK’S DATA CENTER IN LOS LUNAS AND TO WHOLESALE CUSTOMERS SELLING TO MARKETS OUTSIDE NEW MEXICO.
