AL UNSER JR., WHO WON THE INDIANAPOLIS 500 IN 1992 AND 1994, SAID HE HAD NOT BEEN DRINKING … BUT HE WAS STILL CITED FOR DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED MONDAY WHEN HE WAS PULLED OVER FOR GOING 59 MILES PER HOUR IN A 45 MILE PER HOUR ZONE. UNSER WAS ALSO DRIFTING FROM ONE LANE TO ANOTHER AND IT WAS NOTED THAT HIS EYES WERE RED AND HIS SPEECH SLURRED. HE ALSO LOST HIS BALANCE AND FELL DOWN AN EMBANKMENT WHEN HE GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE.
THIS IS HIS 4TH ALCOHOL RELATED OFFENSE. HE DID REFUSE TO TAKE A FIELD SOBRIETY TEST BUT KOB TV REPORTS HIS BLOOD WAS DRAWN AND THE RESULTS OF THAT ARE PENDING.
