THIS IS POLICE MEMORIAL WEEK, AND THE FBI IN ALBUQUERQUE IS HIGHLIGHTING AN UNSOLVED CASE INVOLVING THE MURDER OF A STATE POLICE OFFICER ALMOST 50 YEARS AGO.
AGENT FRANK FISHER SAYS ON NOVEMBER 8TH, 1971 OFFICER ROBERT ROSENBLOOM WAS GUNNED DOWN DURING A TRAFFIC STOP ON I-40 WEST OF ALBUQUERQUE. HE SAYS THE SOLE REMAINING SUSPECT IN THAT CASE NOW LIVES IN CUBA. FISHER SAYS THEY’RE GETTING THE WORD OUT NOW TO THE PUBLIC THAT THE FBI IS STILL LOOKING FOR THAT SUSPCT.
THAT MAN IS CHARLES LEE HILL…BELIEVED TO NOW BE 69 YEARS OLD. FISHER SAYS AFTER THE ROSENBLOOM MURDER, HILL AND TWO OTHERS HIJACKED A PLANE AT THE ALBUQUERQUE AIRPORT AND FLEW TO CUBA…WHERE HILL REMAINS TO THIS DAY.
