Teen Wanted in Mail Carrier’s Death Arrested

XAVIER ZAMORA, THE 17 YEAR OLD WHO ALLEGEDLY SHOT AND KILLED U-S POSTAL SERVICE EMPLOYEE JOSE HERNANDEZ IN ALBUQUERQUE THIS WEEK … HAS BEEN ARRESTED. THE TEEN WAS ARRESTED WEDNESDAY NIGHT NEAR 98TH STREET AND TOWER ON THE CITY’S WEST SIDE NEAR THE TEEN’S HOME. HE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY WITHOUT INCIDENT AFTER KEEPING APD OFFICER AND THE POST SERVICE SEARCHING FOR HIM SINCE THE 47 YEAR OLD HERNANDEZ WAS SHOT AND KILLED.

ZAMORA WAS IN A DOMESTIC DISPUTE WITH HIS MOTHER WHEN HERNANDEZ TRIED TO INTERVENE, ACTUALLY MACING THE TEEN AT ONE POINT. THAT’S WHEN POLICE SAY ZAMORA WENT BACK IN THE HOUSE, RETRIEVED A GUN AND SHOT HERNANDEZ.

ZAMORA IS CHARGED WITH AN OPEN COUNT OF MURDER.
