NEW MEXICO CONTINUES TO ADD JOBS…BUT IT STILL HAS ONE OF THE HIGHEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATES IN THE NATION. THE WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS DEPARTMENT SAYS EMPLOYMENT IN THE STATE GREW BY MORE THAN 10-THOUSAND JOBS OVER THE PAST YEAR, LED BY MINING, CONSTRUCTION, AND LEISURE AND HOSPITALITY.
THE JOBLESS RATE STAYED STEADY IN MARCH FROM THE PREVIOUS MONTH, AT 5.1 PERCENT. ALASKA WAS THE ONLY STATE WITH A HIGHER JOBLESS RATE AT 6.5 PERCENT.
