A THIRD STRUCTURE FIRE IN ALBUQUERQUE THIS WEEK TO TELL YOU ABOUT. IT HAPPENED AT A DUPLEX WEDNESDAY NIGHT AROUND 8:20 IN THE 500 BLOCK OF ARNO SOUTHEAST. WHEN ABQ FIRE RESCUE CREWS ARRIVED ON SCENE, THEY FOUND SMOKE COMING FROM ONE SIDE ON THE RESIDENCES.
ONE PERSON WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR SMOKE INHALATION, BUT THERE WERE NO OTHER INJURIES. FIRE CREWS GOT INSIDE THE DUPLEX AND DISCOVERED THE FIRE WAS STARTED BY A HEATER IN A CRAWL SPACE THAT HAD BEEN COVERED WITH A RUG. THEY HAD THE GAS UTILITIES DISCONNECTED AND PUT THE FIRE OUT IN ABOUT 40 MINUTES.
