THE SITUATION ALONG THE SOUTHERN BORDER HAS REACHED THE BREAKING POINT. THAT’S FROM CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION COMMISSIONER KEVEN MCALEENAN. HE SPOKE IN EL PASO, TEXAS, ON WEDNESDAY, SAYING THAT MORE THAN 55-THOUSAND FAMILY UNITS ALONE WOULD COME TO THE BORDER THIS MONTH.
MCALEENAN SAYS THEY’RE BRINGING IN PERSONNEL FROM ALL ALONG THE SOUTHERN BORDER TO ASSIST IN MANAGING THE LARGE NUMBER OF MIGRANTS. IT INCLUDES AGENTS WHO MANNED THE HIGHWAY BORDER CHECKPOINTS WHICH HAVE NOW BEEN TEMPORARILY CLOSED.
NEW MEXICO IS PART OF THE EL PASO SECTOR.
