Home Prices Expected to Keep Climbing

A LOW NUMBER OF HOMES ON THE MARKET IN THE ALBUQUERQUE METRO WILL CONTINUE TO PUT UPWARD PRESSURE ON SALES PRICES. THAT’S THE OPINION OF KENT CRAVENS, THE EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT FOR THE GREATER ALBUQUERQUE ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS. HE SAYS INVENTORY LEVELS HAVE BEEN AT HISTORICALLY LOW LEVELS, BUT HE SEES THE SITUATION IMPROVING. HE SAYS ABOUT 26-THOUSAND HOMES ARE NOW ON THE MARKET AFTER THE 2-THOUSAND THAT WERE ON THE MARKET IN FEBRUARY.

CRAVENS SAYS THE AVERAGE SALES PRICE IN THE METRO AREA IS 242-THOUSAND DOLLARS RIGHT NOW.
