NEW MEXICO’S EFFORT TO FIGHT THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC IS GETTING A BOOST FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. A GRANT OF JUST OVER 2-POINT-7 MILLION DOLLARS IS HEADING TO THE STATE. THE MONEY WILL HELP SUPPLY APPROVED MEDICATIONS FOR THE TREATMENT OF OPIOID DISORDERS, REDUCE ANY UNMET TREATMENT NEEDS AND LOWER OPIOID-RELATED DEATHS THROUGH PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND RECOVERY.
