FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR, THERE’S BEEN A CONFIRMED CASE OF RABIES IN A FOX IN SAN MIGUEL COUNTY. THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF GAME AND FISH SAYS THE LATEST CONFIRMATION CAME ON MARCH FIRST. THERE WAS A PREVIOUS CASE IN LATE JANUARY IN THE SAME AREA.
THE DEPARTMENT SAYS IT’S IMPORTANT FOR PET AND LIVESTOCK OWNERS TO HAVE THEIR ANIMALS VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES. AND OFFICIALS ARE ALSO REMINDING PEOPLE TO AVOID ANY CONTACT WITH FOXES OR OTHER WILD ANIMALS.
