New Information on Dona Ana County Officer Involved Shooting

NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN AN OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING WEDNESDAY IN DONA ANA COUNTY. STATE POLICE SAY JAMES KIRKLAND OF KINGMAN, ARIZONA WAS SHOT AND WOUNDED BY AN OFFICER AS KIRKLAND THREATENED IN KILL HIMSELF AND HIS 7 YEAR OLD SON AFTER HE BARRICADED HIMSELF INSIDE A VEHICLE.

POLICE SAY KIRKLAND HAD BLOWN THROUGH A BORDER PATROL CHECKPOINT AND THEN DROVE ERRATICALLY ON THE INTERSTATE…EVEN DRIVING IN THE WRONG LANES FOR A TIME. IT TURNS OUT KIRKLAND AND HIS WIFE ARE UNDER INVESTIGATION IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA.

KIRKLAND’S WIFE, MEANWHILE, CLAIMS SHE HAD BEEN KIDNAPPED BY HER HUSBAND. THE COUPLE’S YOUNG SON IS NOW IN C.Y.F.D. CUSTODY.
