Mistrial Declared for Man Charged with Prostituting Daughter

AN ALBUQUERQUE JUDGE HAS DECLARED A MISTRIAL IN THE CASE OF JAMES STEWART… ACCUSED OF FORCING HIS YOUNG DAUGHTER INTO PROSTITUTION. DISTRICT JUDGE CINDY LEOS RULED THAT PREJUDICIAL TESTIMONY HAD BEEN GIVEN WEDNESDAY BY A WITNESS IN THE CASE…THE LITTLE GIRL’S GRANDMOTHER. A NEW TRIAL DATE OF APRIL FIRST HAS BEEN SET.

STEWART ALLEGEDLY FORCED THE GIRL, NOW EIGHT YEARS OLD, TO TOUCH HIS FRIENDS INAPPROPRIATELY AND TO PANHANDLE FOR MONEY. THE CASE IS BEING PROSECUTED BY THE NEW MEXICO ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE.
