Wayne Johnson: I believe in Albuquerque—the city in which I was born and grew up. I believe that this community can be safe and prosperous again.
Crime, crime and crime—along with job creation, education, behavioral health, addiction, and homelessness—are all challenges we face in Albuquerque. We are at a tipping point and need a mayor who is experienced and ready to go on day one in office.

I understand the challenges we face. As a Bernalillo County Commissioner for the past 6 ½ years I have already demonstrated my ability to lead and to succeed.

I expanded the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department in 2012; I helped to create 3,500 jobs and $600 million in private investment through 43 industrial revenue bonds; I worked with the community schools partnership to address problems outside the classroom that affect student achievement inside the classroom; and I worked to create coalitions and partnerships between the city, county, providers, clients, and the public to address behavioral health, addiction, and homelessness.

I know the issues, the community, and have a proven record of success taking on all of the challenges that we face in Albuquerque today. I look forward to being your mayor.
