We’re learning more about what two inmates did in the hours following their escape from the Sandoval County Detention Center this past Friday. County officials say Blake McPherson and Paul Garcia made their way to a friend’s home in Bernalillo where Garcia was able to get a change of clothes. A relative of Garcia’s then drove them to Albuquerque, dropping off McPherson and taking Garcia to another relative’s home in Valencia County.
Both men were eventually captured following tips to police. Now there are three separate investigations underway into how the pair slipped out of jail.
Garcia is a suspect in the traffic accident deaths of 14-year-old Shaylee Boling and her mother Shaunna this past January.
