Police in Rio Rancho make an arrest in a fatal stabbing from late in the evening of March 31st. Joseph Vargas has been charged with an open count of murder in the death of 23-year-old Kenneth Torres.
Julian Torres, unrelated to Kenneth, was wounded in the attack and remains in critical condition.
It happened on Eventide Southeast in Rio Rancho. Police say, Vargas, as he was being questioned, confessed to killing Torres. The investigation is on-going and no motive has been released. This was the first homicide of the year in Rio Rancho.
