Among the bills vetoed by Governor Martinez was House Bill 202. It mandated that all internet sales be taxed, including companies that don’t have a physical presence in the state.
As of April 1st, Amazon has been voluntarily collecting the sales tax, though it doesn’t do so on sales involving third-party vendors. The Santa Fe New Mexican reports House Bill 202 only applied to companies with $100,000 in annual sales.
