In Santa Fe, a Senate Committee has approved a bill banning coyote killing contests in New Mexico. Supporters of the measure say the contests are a barbaric blood sport. But opponents say they’re a good was to control the coyote population.
The Albuquerque Journal reports the bill has to clear two more committees before reaching the full Senate.
