Man Jailed After Standoff With APD

The man who set off a swat call out in Downtown Albuquerque Thursday afternoon is now in the Metro Detention Center on a felony probation violation charge. The incident forced a lockdown at nearby Janet Kahn School of Integrated Arts.

Jeremy Pearson barricaded himself inside a home on Roma near Broadway just before the afternoon commute. That led to APD also closing Broadway from Lomas to MLK. Police advised neighbors to keep doors and windows closed, then deployed a “gas irritant” to force Pearson outside. He was arrested by 8 pm, when the ordeal concluded.
