APS Students Advised to Attend Classes

This is “Day Without an Immigrant” in the US in which many are protesting President Trump’s Immigration Policy that’s led to ICE raids across the country.

Albuquerque Public Schools has sent a letter home to parents saying the district supports its immigrant students but urges those students and any others at APS to attend classes instead of staying out. APS officials say if a student is out, it’ll be counted as an “unexcused absence.”

“Day Without Immigrants” organizers have asked protesters to miss school or work, or not open their businesses.
