A bill that would have banned late-term abortions in New Mexico dies in committee. The Senate Public Affairs Committee Tuesday struck down the measure. It would have prohibited abortions after 20 weeks but would have also made exceptions to the rule if the pregnancy put the mother’s life at risk.
A companion bill is still circulating in the State House.
