An Albuquerque senator says state agencies don’t spend enough money with New Mexico companies. Democrat Michael Padilla says around 85% of the $3 Billion spent every year on outside contracts goes to out-of-state firms. He’s proposing a bill that would require agencies to spend at least a third of their money on businesses based in New Mexico. He says that would create thousands of jobs.
