More Funds for NM Schools

New Mexico’s two major wealth funds did well in 2016, with investment returns of over 7%. And that’s good news for public education funding in the state. The Associated Press reports that disbursements from the Land Grant Permanent Fund and the Severance Tax Permanent Fund will increase by $60 million, to almost $900 million, in the upcoming fiscal year.

The value of the two funds is now close to $20 Billion.
