With all the people traveling by car or truck this Christmas season, AAA New Mexico expects to get rescue calls from at least 980,000 of them. Doug Shupe with AAA New Mexico says they’re urging drivers to make sure their vehicle is in good shape before they hit the road.
He says check your battery to make sure it’s charged well enough, especially if you’re driving in winter weather conditions. Make sure your fluids are topped off and also check your hoses and belts to make sure they’re not cracked or frayed.
Most drivers need help with a dead battery, flat tire, or locking themselves out of their car. Shupe says 7.6 million people are traveling somewhere this week and 6.8 of them are going by car or truck.
