Some changes being made to the Mayor of Santa Fe’s proposed soda tax. Mayor Javier Gonzales is now narrowing the tax hike to exclude diet drinks. He also now says the revenue from the tax would only pay for schools within the Santa Fe city boundaries. It previously had included schools in rural areas.
The City Council still has to approve the proposal which would then put it before voters in a special election.
