An Albuquerque Nob Hill luxury condo complex that was about to open is now a total loss. City fire crews were sent to the 32 unit Carlisle at Central and Carlisle around 1:30 Wednesday morning and found the condos that were still being built fully inflamed.
AFD spokesperson Melissa Romero says they had it contained within a couple of hours but she says Central and Carlisle will be an area you’ll want to avoid for a while. She tells us that because of the size of the property, crews will be there for the next couple of days to keep an eye on potential hot spots.
Crews managed to keep the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. The fire still has Central in that area closed both east and westbound. The fire could be linked to another fire overnight at the project defending life, also in Nob Hill.
