NM Officers Honored In Nation’s Capitol

     THEY ARE HONORED ON FRIDAY IN WASHINGTON DC FOR MAKING THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE. FOUR NEW MEXICO LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ARE AMONG THOSE BEING HONORED AFTER BEING KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY.
     AMONG THE FOUR: APD OFFICER DANIEL WEBSTER, SHOT TO DEATH DURING A TRAFFIC STOP LAST OCTOBER IN ALBUQUERQUE. HE WAS INTERRED AT ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY FRIDAY MORNING. RIO RANCHO POLICE OFFICER GREGG “NIGEL” BENNER WILL ALSO BE HONORED. HE WAS ALSO SHOT TO DEATH DURING A TRAFFIC STOP LAST YEAR.
     THE OTHER TWO ARE NAVAJO NATION OFFICER ALEX YAZZIE, GUNNED DOWN IN A FIGHT LAST MARCH WITH A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SUSPECT. AND CLOVIS POLICE OFFICER RODOLFO LEDEZMA, WHO DIED OF A HEART ATTACK ON THE JOB IN 1995.
