After Apple refused to help us fight the war on terror from the Islamic State. Our government actually did something smart for a change, they were proactive and found and paid hackers to unlock the phone of the San Bernardino terrorists, finally a worthwhile investment of our tax dollars. When this story about Apple refusing to help Federal authorities, I was actually on the side of Apple. I still do not believe the Federal government should strong arm a private company into doing something for them, it should be up to the company to accept or deny the request without fear of reprisal or having to go to court. But when it came to light that Apple had cooperated with law enforcement dozens of times of the years to break into phones, it was clear to me that Apple was acting hypocritical. Apple cannot pick and choose when it wants to cooperate, we can only suspect Apple did not want to open the Islamic terrorists phone because political correctness, not because of a new found moral backbone. Good for Uncle Sam on this one, when US companies want to be hypocrites and not help us fight the war on terrorism, lets find hackers who will do it, maybe not for patriotism but for cold hard cash.
