One of the major accomplishments by lawmakers during the 30-day legislative session earlier this year in Santa Fe was passing HB 99. The bill passed the House and Senate on a large bi-partisan vote and signed into law by governor Martinez. HB 99 changes our state’s driver’s license law so illegal immigrants can no longer get a regular driver’s license. they will no be eligible for a driving privilege card. The rest of us will eventually get a license that now complies with the Federal Real ID Act. What happens next? How soon can we get a Real ID license here in New Mexico? We will talk about with the Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico Tax and Revenue Department, Demesia Padilla. She joins us in-studio tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. Secretary Padilla will also take your calls.
