Sunday Sept 13

Weekends, for the most part, is a light hearted and fun show. This one will be super serious. It’s one you don’t want to miss.

I moved to Albuquerque 40 years ago on Sept 5, 1975. I love this city but find it a cause for much sadness to realize that I can drive down just about any major street and point out one or more crime scenes from those last 40 years.

I’m sure Albuquerque is no different from any other city and I can’t bring back those victims, but at least maybe we can remember some of them. The West Mesa Murders have been in the news a lot lately, but what about the others? Names like Lollie, Tera, Jenna, and more. It would take years to remember them all but this Sunday we will let a few represent the others, as well as, themselves. Most of these victims have been women killed by men, but as you will see, not in every case.

I call the show “If I don’t come to work, call the police” Those were words that Girly Chew Hossencofft said to her co-workers. She didn’t come to work and her body has never been found. We will look briefly at this Malaysia-born beauty’s short life. More details about her story can be found in the Mark Horner book “September Sacrifice”.
