Next Saturday’s show topic will be musical in nature. This in recognition of Woodstock which took place Aug 15-18, 1969 in Woodstock, NY.
I wasn’t at Woodstock. No one told me about it and I was frustrated all weekend wondering where everybody was. When they returned they were caked with mud behind the ears and other places.
Saturday, August 15 show is called Career Aid.
In 1985, 21 soloists, 24 backup singers, and 7 musicians recorded the Aid for Africa song “We are the World”. What has happened to those artists since then? Three have died and one was almost beaten to death by his (estranged) wife. There has been Live Aid, Farm Aid, etc. Maybe these artists could use some Career Aid.
Sunday Will be “I’ve got you Babe”.
The great Babe Ruth died on August 16, 1948. Some say it was a bad hot dog he got at the ball park. We’ll find out.
In the fifth inning of game 3 of the 1932 World Series at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Ruth pointed to a spot in the center field bleachers and proceeded to hit a home run in that exact spot. Did he really call the shot, or was he, as was suggested in a recent TV commercial, simply ordering a Bud Light?
