It’s been a pretty good week for adoptions at our Eastside shelter. Several of our smaller dogs that had graduated from our Shy Dog Program finally found their forever homes. A few have been featured over the last few weeks on KKOB. Fun loving little Hobo from last week went home early in the week. Rascal with the Curly Q tail has a new kennel mate and is trying to grab anyone’s attention so he may fine his perfect person.
This week we have a gorgeous lab mix and a handsome little guy for you to consider as well as some new fur-kids that have come in due to moves and the loss of their elderly owners.
Lindsey (ID# A 1719622) is a 2 year old, female tan Labrador Retriever & Vizla mix. She weighs 40 pounds. Lindsey has pretty markings and is more of a light red color. This lovely girl was a bit shy when she came in so initially we felt she would do best with children around 12. It appears Lindsey has left her shy girl days far behind. She knows the cue for sit well and politely sits at her kennel door ready for walk or play time. She is pretty good on leash after her initial excitement at finally getting out of her kennel and being able to spend time with people. Lindsey is very sweet and attentive to her person. She is also a very fun dog and always read to play. She just loves to play in our plastic kiddy pool so she might love to go to the lake with her new family. She is pretty good at fetching balls. Lindsey enjoys our doggie play groups and has several best buddies, some we have featured and might like to go home with Lindsey. If you have a present companion bring them in and we will be happy to help with a meet and greet. Lindsey occasionally herds her friends if the game of chase becomes spirited. We have a lot of pigeons around the shelter because they steal the dog food. Lindsey thinks this is a very fun game chasing pigeons in our play yard or even lizards while out walking. Lindsey accompanied several volunteers to march in the 4th of July parade in Madrid. Lindsey rode up with a best friend named Arnie and they were very well behaved sitting on the back seat to and returning. Lindsey made a lot of human and canine friends that day. She handled the crowds and music quite well. Come to our Eastside shelter to meet Lindsey. You will see a Q-Code on her kennel door. If you have a Q-Code app on your phone you will be able to see a video of Lindsey playing with her friends.
Uly (ID# A 1720562) is a 6 year old, male tan & white smooth coated Chihuahua mix. Uly was surrendered because his home had too many dogs. To avoid citations they surrendered this sweet boy. Uly would love to find a forever home that will take him for walks and help him shed a couple pounds. He weighs 15 pounds. He is good on leash and enjoys taking walks. He can walk fairly quickly so don’t think he is an old boy. He also loves to curl up in your lap and shower you with kisses but he needs a bit of help up because he has short legs. Uly is looking for a gentle home. He would be very happy sharing couch potato life with a few walks to keep him healthy. His long time companion Hobo that we featured last week went home. He was a bit lonely for a couple days but he has a new kennel mate that was just surrendered. Uly is a happy hopeful boy looking for a forever home with a few less dogs this time around so he will get some quality attention and loving. You will find him at our Eastside shelter.
