B.V.’s Confidential

David Lettermen is signing off after 33 years in late night TV this week. He was once a great comic innovator and interviewer but I tapped out on him several years ago when he let his own political agenda cloud his comedy. His idol, Johnny Carson, was the most brilliant man ever to host a talk show and you never knew where he stood politically because he made fun of everyone. Jay Leno was made in that same mold and I began watching Leno instead of Lettermen for late night laughs about 10 years ago when Lettermen’s ultra-liberal agenda became apparent. For mainstream television it is not enough to be down the middle, you have to be on the left. This trend will continue as Lettermen gives his show to Stephen Colbert who has made a living mocking conservative values with half-truths and outright lies disguised as parody. So see you later Dave, you were never really that funny and you will only be missed by those clueless enough to not understand your hidden agenda.
