Mysti (ID# A 1097206) is a 4 year old, female brown & white German Shepherd mix. She is on the smaller side only weighing 36 pounds. Mysti came to us when her parents divorced and the person she was left no longer had time for her. They said prior to the divorce she was an indoor dog, house trained, rode well in a car and attended basic obedience classes. She is a super sweet girl. She does not enjoy being cooped up in a kennel. Once she is out away from the noise and busy kennel area she loves to be with people. She is an affectionate girl that loves attention and being petted. She is a family friendly dog so kids so she would welcome children. She is also dog friendly. She enjoys taking walks with other dogs and those that great politely. Mysti has attended our dog play groups and again she enjoyed those that were polite with their greetings and she enjoyed their company. She does respect her personal space and those that were pushy she politely told them no, I don’t want to play that way. She has just the right amount of playful energy but she is not a wild and crazy dog. Mysti is an outgoing friendly gal that wants to greet every person she sees. This sweet perfect sized shepherd mix is ready for her forever home. Come meet her, she is in our first building at the Eastside shelter.
Cooper ID# (A1540120) is a 7 year old, male black & white Tibetan Terrier mix. He weighs 30 pounds. Cooper would do best in a quieter home and would be a perfect dog for mature parents. He came to us when his parents had a child and when the child turned three years of age it began to harass Cooper. They surrendered him saying their child did not respect a dog’s boundaries, frightened him and did not treat him respectfully. Although this was the best decision to protect Cooper he is feeling lost, alone and confused. As you might expect loosing his home and all that was familiar has left him a bit shy. Take him out to a quiet area to meet him and he will warm up quickly. After just a few days with our volunteers he has become a loving sweet boy. He tends to stay near and walks fairly well on leash although startles with the shelter noises. He wants to be with you and leans in for some petting and affection. He gently rests his paws on your lap and snuggles. In a secure home environment this sweet gentle boy will be able to relax and enjoy the love he should be showered with. He is a great age where he could be happy being a couch potato with daily walks, curling up at your feet and following you around the house and being a great devoted companion. You won’t have to go far to find Cooper as he is in our first building at the Eastside shelter. Please remember, as with any of our shelter pets take them to an area away from the building so you both can get to know each other.
