The second of the lab sisters Sara was adopted this week. Many of us fell in love with her sweet loving disposition but are so happy she has found her home.
This weekend come join in the festivities at all three of our locations. It may be a few days early but we are celebrating Cinco De Mayo in a very special way. Our version is called Cinco De Chihuahua! We have many little friends at our shelters it was difficult to pick just two. I have chosen two darling boys for us to talk about.
If a tiny companion is not your cup of tea both the shy bull terrier BayJay and outgoing playful Scooby from last week would love to meet you at our Eastside shelter.
Chip (ID# A 1711442)is a 2 year old, male tricolor smooth coated Chihuahua mix. He weighs 15 pounds. Chip is friendly and has a bit of spunk. He is always ready to great the day with a smile and conversation. Chip became lost and found himself in a strange place with unfamiliar faces, sights and sounds so he was a shy boy when we first met him. He is not a shy guy any longer. This friendly boy is fairly active so he would like a home where he will get daily walks. A walk in the morning and one enjoying a summer sunset would make him very happy. He is good on leash. He also enjoys being a lap dog receiving love and attention. He is a very handsome young fellow with a dark brown and tan coat and a small strip of white on his chest. His tail curls with happiness and it is oh so cute. Chip has attended our small dog play groups and enjoys social time and a bit of play. If you have a present little companion bring him/her to the shelter to meet Chip. He has had kennel mates and is not food aggressive but he tends to not let his friends eat so Chip and any future companion will need separate areas for their food bowl. It really works best if dogs have their own bowls in their own designated area so there are never any disagreements over food and they don’t feel like they have to gobble down their food so quickly. If you have been thinking of a smaller companion then Chip is ready to find his forever person at our Eastside shelter.
Edhar (ID# A 1716530) is a 3 year old, male tan smooth coated Chihuahua mix. He weighs only 10 pounds. Edhar is a bit on the shy side and would do best in a calmer quiet home. He enjoys daily walks and is easy on leash. This gentle fellow loves to curl up in a lap for love and attention. He too has attended our small dog play groups and enjoys social time but likes his friends on the softer mellower side. Edhar has a lovely light coat and is very cute while he prances on leash. When you come in to meet Edhar be sure to ask to see him in a bonding room or quieter area. Away from the hustle and noise of the kennel area you will get a better idea of how he will most likely be in your home. Give him a few minutes to warm up and he will melt your heart. We have had a new group of volunteers start over the last week and they have quickly fallen in love with Edhar. This sweet boy is at our Eastside shelter.
