SILVER CITY, N.M. (AP) Authorities in southwestern New Mexico are trying to identify a person whose body was found in the bed of the Mimbres River in Grant County. The Silver City Sun-News reports that a rancher spotted the unidentified person's remains near State Route 61 on Thursday.
The remains have been sent to the state Office of the Medical Investigator to help identify the person and determine cause of death.
