FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) A Farmington hospital is shuttering its clinic in a neighboring city. San Juan Regional Medical Center will close its Bloomfield clinic in June and move the clinic's patients and five-person medical staff to the hospital's clinic in Aztec.
The Daily Times reports that consolidation of the clinics is intended to help the medical center deal with a nearly $10 million funding deficit, including a nearly $370,000 annual operating loss at the Bloomfield site.
Hospital officials cite a drop in state funding, fewer visits among existing patients and a lack of new patients.
The Aztec facility is eight miles away.
