ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) The owner of an historic trackside hotel in northern Arizona is the new owner of a northeastern New Mexico property that's also a former Harvey House. According to the Albuquerque Journal, Allan Affeldt, the owner of the La Posada Hotel in Winslow, on Monday closed on the purchase of the La Castaneda Hotel in Las Vegas.
Both hotels were Harvey House properties used as food-andest stopping points along the Sante Fe Railway. La Posasa was built in 1929. It has been gradually restored since Affeldt and his wife bought it. Las Castaneda was built in the late 19th Century. It needs extensive restoration work.
Affeldt is also negotiating to purchase another Las Vegas hotel, the Plaza.
