LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) Las Cruces police say a third city streets department worker faces criminal charges accusing him of falsifying public documents.
Police say 40-year-old Robert M. Guillen is charged with 10 counts of forgery and 10 counts of conspiracy stemming from an investigation that began from an anonymous tip last August. According to police, Guillen is accused of misrepresenting his work time and collecting overtime pay for work not done.
Police say investigators believe a supervisor who approved allegedly falsified documents received some of the overtime pay. Two other department workers arrested in February are accused of building a patio at one worker's home while using cement billed to the city and while on work time.
The Las Cruces Sun-News reports it's not immediately clear whether Guillen has a lawyer.
