FBI REPORT: OUTLAW BIKERS MAY CLASH IN ALBUQUERQUE

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) Law enforcement authorities are reporting heightened tension and the possibility of a violent clash in Albuquerque between outlaw motorcycle gangs. An FBI report obtained by the Albuquerque Journal says leaders of at least one gang have told members to head to Albuquerque and that another gang may do the same. According to the report, that's a response to a shooting at a weekend fundraiser at an Albuquerque motorcycle shop. Several people were wounded, one fatally. The report also cites an earlier incident involving members of two gangs.

The FBI report urges police who encounter “outlaw motorcycle club'' members to use extreme caution.

A spokesman for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office says the office has received the FBI report and that it likely will result in “heightened awareness'' by officers.
