RIO RANCHO, N.M. (AP) The University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College are teaming up on the design and construction of a new facility in Rio Rancho. The schools say the new facility will focus on science, technology, engineering, health care and mathematics. It will be located at a site to be determined on the schools' current adjacent campuses in the Albuquerque suburb.
The design process will start with a joint planning exercise, and UNM President Robert Frank says the collaboration will require a new level of cooperation between the institutions.
College President Kathie Winograd says the partnership is the result of off-and-on discussions for the past three years.
